Post Mono leaf question? Reply with quote
The back end of my wifes Grand Voyageur is getting kinda saggy. I thought about shackles, but that wouldn't help with load capacity, (which is a problem).

So my thought is to build a rack of three or four leafs for under the back end, not only to level it back out, but add to the cargo capacity also.

The van is equipped with rear mono leafs, I've never dealt with these before, so i want to make sure i don't somehow over stress this leaf by using it as a main in a rack.

Does anyone know if my idea will work. Is it possible to use a mono leaf as a main leaf in a rack?

BTW its already spring over, i thought of that.

i don't see why using the mono leaf as a main leaf would be a problem unless like you say that would over-stress them. have you tried talking to a spring shop about it?

what are the lengths of the springs, if there is a question I would lean towards the side of safety and try to find a truck/suv pack that may work in there. That way you know the pack is made to hold some load on it but yet will still give a decent ride (minivan weight vs. even suck as s-10 blazer) has got to be close to the same vehicle weight over the springs, but the blazer's will take more before collapsed.
